TouchPlat and arMax automated ticket sales through ticket vending kiosks and Sirena-Travel system. Self-service kiosk manufacturer TouchPlat and payment processing software developer arMax have completed a joint project to automate the sale of airline tickets.
TouchPlat automatic cashiers were integrated into the global Sirena Travel system and installed in three locations: Vnukovo Airport, Paveletsky Train Station and Belorussky Train Station.
How do the ticket kiosk works?
The passengers select on the kiosk touchscreen departure direction, flight number and location, scan their passports. The system recognises and automatically enters the passenger’s passport data into the ticket. Then ticket machine prints a check and a route receipt. The kiosk software works with Russian and European passports, as well as with passports of the CIS countries. Due to the interaction with Sirena Travel system, available flights and seats can be booked online along with ticket payment.
One can pay for the ticket in cash or by credit card. In cash settlements, surrender is possible. The ticket machines use a passport scanner produced by Smart Engines. The software was developed by arMax. It has no analogues in Russia.
Where new ticket vending machines already operate
The first nine kiosks are located at Vnukovo Airport (6), at Paveletsky Train Station (2) and at Belorussky Railway Station (1). The Russian government plans to equip with this system all the major airports. The solution will most likely be of interest to air carriers and ticket aggregators working with the Sirena-Travel system.
